In many cases, no. The library generally does not purchase textbooks to add to its collection. Instructors sometimes place copies of textbooks that they own into the Course Reserve collection so they can be used in the library for a few hours or checked out of the library for a few days.

We also offer scanning services for your convenience! If you would like to have pages of a course reserve scanned and sent to your email, fill out our Course Reserve Scanning Request Form.

  • Due to copyright restrictions, you may request 30 pages (or 1 chapter) scanned per day.
  • If you submit your request by 12pm, we will scan and email it to you by the end of the business day. (If we receive your request after 12pm, you may receive your scan request the next business day)
