The Library's 3rd-floor renovation project removed over a hundred seats from the pool of available seats. To continue to provide study spaces during the construction period, the Kapunawai room was converted to a quiet study area with individual study carrels. The Reference Desk was relocated to the former Group Study Rooms, and the Hawaiian-Pacific Reference Collection was moved to the open commons area.
The estimated construction completion date is in the summer of 2026. Post-renovation, the Library's 3rd floor will have a dedicated space for the Hawaiian-Pacific Collections, and Kapunawai will be converted into a multi-purpose teaching and events room.
